How to Draw Kawaii Unicorn Tips
Kawaii – it’s a Japanese word for “cute”, it’s such a big word as you can see from my blog tittle.
There are a few important tips I’d like to give you if you want to draw anything Kawaii / Cute.
Are you ready?
1. Big Head, Small Body
Body proportion is important for kawaii drawing.
Basically you want to draw a big head.
If the body is too realistic like real human- then it’s no longer cute.
The good ratio of head : body is 1:1 or 1:2 or 1:3.
2. Big Eyes
Be sure to draw big eyes!
Add some sparkles, too.
Drawing big eyes are the key to kawaii cute characters.
3. Don’t draw too realistically
The huge difference between “normal drawing” and Kawaii Cute drawings is, how un-realistic drawings are.
Kawaii-Cute drawings is all about how much you draw UN-realistically.
Draw big head. big eyes. Short legs or hands… that’ll all work very well. It will give personality, too!
4. Give your drawing personality!
Think of the character that you’re drawing.
Giving personality will help a bit time when you draw a kawaii characters,
especially facial expression.
Is he/she happy? or feeling lonely?
Does she/he like music? or reading?
Also it’s fun to give a situation, too.
Is he/she hungry or sleepy now?
What is he/she thinking now?
It will make drawing more fun when you think of those aspects.
Use your imagination, give as crazy/fun thoughts!
Read my Interview page
I was interviewed by another blogger about doodling. There I am also talking about tips and advice 🙂

My tip: If you want to add shadow to Unicorn, start with weak-soft colours. It’s easier to colour from weak to darker colours.
Think what angel the light is.
