How to Draw a Kawaii CAT – step by step tutorial
Now – let’s start! Are you ready?
I start with ear and head line.
First, draw a small mountain and stretch a slightly curvy line.
Keep drawing a head line – then add an ear, like another small mountain. 😊
Lift the pen, start from where we first started – left bottom mountain – and draw a round face line.
It almost looks like an tangerine orange!
Make sure to connect the end of the line, to right ear.
Let’s draw 2 small mountains – inside of those larger mountains (ears.)
Those small mountains are how inside of ears look.
Adding 2 eyes. Make sure to give space between, because we’re going to draw a nose and mouth 🙂
Slightly lower than eyes, we’re adding a nose.
Now we’re drawing a cat’s mouth!
Try to draw like this below, two waves.
We want to make him a happy friendly cat, so a smiling mouth is perfect 🙂
We’re almost done with his face 🙂
Let’s give him some patterns on his fur. How about we add three triangles on his forehead?
Don’t forget! Cats have very nice long whiskers.
It’s important to add those, otherwise it will be difficult to see if it’s a cat or not 😉
Three lines on the left side ….
and on the right side, too. Good job! Now we’ve drawn a face 🙂
We’re moving on to his body next. Are you ready? 👍
Alright! First we are starting off with his left-leg. (looking it from your side.)
Do not connect the ending line to his face, because we are going to draw chest and other leg.
We are drawing almost a straight line….then draw another leg.
It looks good if you stop the line, to the same height of the chest.
We’re going to draw stomach after this!
Notice when we draw a stomach line – we want the same level as chest line.
Can you see it’s a nicely balanced this way? 😉
Drawing a back leg. Again, stop at the same level as chest and a stomach.
Adding a cute little bum. Slightly curved line…
Now! Another important point! Cat’s Tail.
We want to draw a nice, long tail.
First, start from his bottom – and draw a nice, long, a bit wavy line … like this!
Note that the line goes out to the right side at the end.
It’s because cats tail look very nice when it’s curvy like that, instead of a straight line.
Try this 😁
Then we start from where we stopped on Step 15.
Close the opening, and we’re drawing another line, same width.
Draw the line all the way down – until you hit the end of his tail.
Phew! I hope you managed to draw his tail?
Then, simple we connect his body to a face.
Let’s give him a collar.
He has a nice bell …
Don’t forget to draw inside of the bell.
Small line crossing the circle, and we’re drawing a small opening.
Ops! We shouldn’t forget about adding his back leg.
