How To Draw a Rose – Step by Step Tutorial
Let’s Begin! (ops…. there’s a strange black line on the right purple bar. I forgot to delete it when I was editing. Please ignore!)
Step 1. We’re starting from inside of a bud. You want to draw from higher position, because the rose is going to be long towards the bottom. Make sure you have enough space !
Let’s draw “e” – just like lowercase, “e”!
Step 2. Then we’ll circle around the “e”.
Step 3. Then now we’re drawing the bottom of the bud. It kind of looks like a vase… but remember NOT to close the RIGHT line, because we’re drawing a petal there.
Step 4. Start from the left – bottom, we’re drawing a curvy line, and finishing it where “e” ends.
Step 5. Let’s draw another beautiful curvy line, starting from left-bottom, almost the same starting post as the first curvy line that you had just drawn. Remember this line is ending BEFORE touching to “e”. We want to give a bit of a space…
Step 6. Now we’re drawing outside line of the patel. Give big, nice curvy line like the picture below 🙂
Step 7. And we’re closing the last-opening space.
Step 8. Now we’re drawing the other patel… basically, we’re mirroring with first patel. Let’s draw a curvy big outline on the left side…
Step 9. Giving another curvy line. Now it looks like the petal is curled in, which I think it looks beautiful 🙂
Good job! We’re done with the Rose-Bud part. This was the most difficult part!
Step 10. We’re adding 3 leaves under the Rose Bud.
Step 11. And here is the very bottom of the Rose bud , behind the leaves.
Step 12. Now, let’s draw a nice long stem. Try to draw the same width all the from the top to the bottom, that will look very clean and nice!
Step 13. We’re almost done! Remember, Roses have shape thorns. We’re drawing triangle-shaped thorns, left and right, like almost zig-zag.
Good Job!!!!!! Now we have drawn a beautiful Rose together 🙂
